A Development Programme for Construction Leaders

27 years.
Three countries.
One standard.

This programme is built on what I learned the hard way. On site, under pressure, with real money and real reputations on the line.

"Sometimes you have to take a step back to go further forward. Do not let your ego block your trajectory."

Rayno de Kock, Founder

Eight principles.
Everything else follows.

01
Mindset
Foundation
Everything starts here. Without the right mindset you will not have the discipline, the passion, or the want. You cannot build anything: a business, a reputation, a team. Without first building the belief that it is possible and the hunger to make it happen. Mindset is not a mood. It is a decision you make and keep.
02
Pride
You put your name to everything you do. Whether you are on the tools, leading a project, or running a business. The standard does not change. Pride is not arrogance. It is the refusal to deliver anything less than your best, regardless of who is watching.
03
Discipline
Discipline is not a rule you follow. It is the gap between who you are and who you are aiming to become. If your aim for the person you are today is to be the same person six months from now, this programme is not for you. Discipline is the daily decision to close that gap. Not once. Every day.
04
Fairness
I have sat at every side of the table. I have seen people burnt as labourers, as subcontractors, as directors. Fairness is not weakness. It is the only way to build something that lasts. You deal straight, regardless of which lane you are in.
05
Relationships
The reason you started a business is because people trusted you. That trust was built through relationships. Family, clients, workforce, competitors. All of it. The people who fail in this industry treat relationships as transactions. The ones who last treat them as the foundation of everything.
06
Think Ahead
Not predict. Anticipate. Before today ends, you know what is happening tomorrow. You always look one week ahead at minimum. You think five steps forward. That is how you stay in control instead of reacting. Anticipating risk is the difference between a leader and someone who just shows up.
07
Surround Yourself With People Who Challenge You
If you want to become better at what you do, you need people around you who can make you better. You cannot be the smartest person in the room. If you are, you need to find a new room. The people you spend time with either raise your ceiling or lower it. Choose deliberately.
08
Develop Leaders Around You
Everywhere you go, every walk of life, whatever you do. You have to develop leaders around you. A leader who does not build other leaders is just a manager with a bigger title. Your legacy is not what you built. It is who you built.

I started on the tools at 17.
I never left the industry.

Aluminium fitter and carpenter in South Africa. That is where it started, learning the trade from the ground up.

Built a business from nothing. Sold it. Started again in the UK. Grew it. Then took on some of the most demanding projects in the Middle East.

Along the way there were failures. Businesses that did not work. Decisions that cost money, time, and reputation. I do not call them failures. I call them lessons. Every one of them is in this programme.

Currently leading delivery on a landmark luxury project in Saudi Arabia while founding UrProject: a construction labour operating system built to fix the industry's biggest operational problems.

27 years. Three countries. Every level of the industry. Built on real delivery, real failure, and real recovery.

Five pillars.
Released weekly.
Applied immediately.

Each pillar is a structured module built from real experience. One lesson per week. You apply it to your actual situation before the next call. The development call is where you report back, get challenged, and move forward.

01

Leadership

How leaders lead: on site and in business. Decision-making, accountability, and building a culture that delivers.

02

Delivery

Programme control, commercial protection, proof records, and how to run a project that stands up to scrutiny.

03

Business Models

How to structure, price, and scale a construction business. Revenue, margins, and building something that works without you in every decision.

04

Systems

Removing yourself from daily chaos. Delegation, workflows, tools, and using AI to buy back your time.

05

Sales & Growth

Winning better work, building reputation, partnerships, and creating recurring revenue without undercutting on price.

One call per week.
Every week. No exceptions.

The weekly development call is the engine of the programme. It is not optional. It is the accountability mechanism that makes everything else work.

20 min
Teaching
One topic from the current pillar. Taught from experience, not slides.
40 min
Accountability
Members report back on the commitment they made last week. No excuses accepted. Progress or honest assessment of what blocked it.

The 5 Daily Non-Negotiables

Membership is not passive. Every member commits to five daily standards. These are not suggestions. They are the baseline. If you cannot commit to these, this programme is not for you.

01

Plan the day before it starts

Know what tomorrow looks like before today ends.

02

Look one week ahead

Always operate with at least seven days of forward visibility.

03

Protect your standard

Do not compromise on quality, conduct, or commitment. Regardless of pressure.

04

Invest in one relationship

One meaningful interaction per day. Client, team, family, or peer.

05

Report your progress

Post your daily commitment in the community. Accountability is not optional.
